Google Analytics with anonymized IP
Google Analytics is a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google utilizes the Data collected to track and examine the use of this Application, to prepare reports on its activities and share them with other Google services. This site uses the most basic configuration of Google Analytics and thus, it does not store any cookie for user personalized advertisement, just the necessary to see traffic in the site. Furthermore, we have configured Google Analytics in a way that it anonymizes your IP address. It works by changing the ending of users' IP addresses so they are no longer an identifier of each user.
- _gat_gtag_UA_* (Google Analytics) :
- Provides data on unique browser visits to our website.
- It stays just a minute.
- _ga and _gid (Google Analytics) :
- They help Google Analytics distinguishing users.
- _ga lasts 2 years and _gid 24 hours.
Learn more about Google Analytics in their article "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services".
How can cookies be deactivated?
As the cookies are anonymous, the way of preventing them is to configure the settings of the browser, but if you do so, the functionality they bring will no longer work.
In the case of the Google Analytics cookies, you could use their add-on for browsers to block them. Check it out here.
